My New Machine

 Coverstitch Machine

I'm so excited!  Yesterday I got my new Coverstitch machine.  I have coveted one of these machines for some time now and yesterday I was finally able to collect it from the shop.  I read about these machines in a Dressmaking with Stitches magazine a while ago when they did an article on "What should I look for when purchasing..."  Since reading about these machines I felt it was something I needed.  I must say that I am not fond of that home made look therefore, I didn't sew as often as I should.  I wanted my sewing to have that 'professional finish' and this machine was promising to do just that.

Today I  had time to have a play with my new baby and found that it has hissy fits similarities to the overlocker in that the looper thread can get tangled and make such a mess.  After working on this little problem I sewed a few samples which gave light to more problems.  None-the-less, I eventually sewed the hem on a top that has been waiting impatiently patiently  to be finished.  Sadly this will have to wait until tomorrow for completion as I ran out of time.

I have decided that with a little practice this machine will be much loved and used.  So... I'm still excited with my Coverstitch machine and can't wait to put it to work.

    Good luck with playing with your new machine, I'm sure you will master the complexities of cover-stitching in no time...! Shannon from Mushywear has one, and may be able to give you advice if needed.

    Congratulations on your new machine. I have the exact same one! I love it and think that it really does make a difference to how professional your knit garments look. I'm looking forward to hearing how you get on with yours.

    awww...thats so sweet. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous. lol....I'm going to be looking very closely to see what you do with it. hmm, just might start another campaign to get myself one.
